I watched Boondock Saints for the first time last night. I know I know, it's pathetic that I hadn't seen it till now but I'm not big on action movies. However, I really loved this one! The actors did an amazing job and were very convincing. If you haven't seen it before (shame on you) here's the jist: Two brothers get in a fight with a few men from the Russian mob and end up winning. After killing the men, Boston calls them heroes and they soon get a message from God that they must "destroy all evil so the good can florish." Interesting huh? So we are with them on their journey of taking down all the bad men in Boston. We also follow the head investigator in these crimes played by Willem Dafoe. He does an AMAZING job in this role! The only other movies I know him from are the Spiderman movies...which I'm not a huge fan of. But now I am definitely going to go look up some more of his movies. The only problem I had with this movie was the directing. Troy Duffy wrote (props) and directed (eh) Boondock Saints. There were so many parts in this movie which could have been incredible but ended up being a little dull. I felt like it took away from the movie. I would've loved to see what Quentin Tarantino could do with this movie. I think if he had done it, it would've been a classic. Boondock Saints 2: All Saints Day is coming out on Tuesday so go have a marathon!
